Lakota Wolf Preserve

A friend and I went to the Lakota Wolf Preserve this past Winter to photograph the wolves. It was a wonderful experience. All four packs started howling and now I have that recording for my phone ring tone.  The wolf is an amazing animal! If you get a chance to visit GO! Following are a few of the photographs from our visit. Here is an interesting fact: the wolf has a bite of about 1600 psi, a full grown pit bull has a bite of about 700 psi. When a wolf eats a deer it eats everything but the jaw bone.

“Once again the howling of wolves echo through the mountains of the Delaware Water Gap in Knowlton Township, Warren County, NJ.  Photo opportunities of a lifetime and the experience of watching and listening to packs of Tundra, Timber, and Arctic wolves will be yours.  View wolves here in the East in a natural surrounding for the first time in over a century.  Bobcats and foxes also reside at the reserve.” copied from the Lakota website, hope they don’t mind.
